This bridge is part of the Camp Ripley Spur off of the Staple Subdivision, part of the original line built from Little Falls to Brainard.

The bridge here was built in 1891, and featured a pair of 6 panel, pin connected Pratt Through Trusses.
These trusses rested on stone substructures.

However, the largest alteration for the bridge came in 1974, when a train shifted and destroyed the eastern span. To replace this span, a 1900 era Warren Through Truss span was brought in from an unknown location in Washington State.

This large 10 panel Warren Through Truss is heavily built with riveted connections.

Today, the bridge sees little traffic and its future is rather uncertain. It is most often used for transport of supplies to Camp Ripley, an army base north of Little Falls.
The author has ranked the structure as regionally significant, due to the age and relocation history of the structure.
